WiFlyer Wi-Fi base station to be sold at Wayport’s Laptop Lane airport business centersHighly-acclaimed WiFlyer "travel router" offered to business and vacation travelers to provide wireless laptop convenience anywhere
HOUSTON, TEXAS, November 9, 2004 - Always On Wireless, Inc., manufacturer of the portable WiFlyer wireless base station, today announced that Wayport's Laptop Lane airport business centers will begin offering the WiFlyer product for sale, in all of its 15 full-service business center locations that also feature retail products for business travelers in airports nationwide. By supporting shareable, wireless Internet access using either dialup or broadband connections, the WiFlyer product offers the convenience and freedom of wireless laptop use anywhere on the road - even when wired or Wi-Fi broadband services are unavailable. "The WiFlyer is a great tool for the business traveler and we're glad to be offering it to the thousands of travelers visiting our Laptop Lane airport business centers each day," said Matt Dewyer, director of Airport Retail for Wayport. "Laptop Lane offers private offices for rent featuring business services like high-speed Internet access. Also offered are convenient travel accessories in some of the nations busiest airports, and the WiFlyer is a great fit, particularly to users of Wayport's Wi-Fi services in hotels, airports and McDonald's, who have become accustomed to wireless convenience whenever they travel." "Wayport is one of the world's largest providers of high-speed wireless and wired access services for travelers, and the WiFlyer is a great compliment to their network," says Rudy Prince, CEO of Always On Wireless, Inc. "The WiFlyer is compact and lightweight, so it travels well and easily connects to any Wayport wired Ethernet connection to instantly provide wireless laptop connectivity over broadband. And for locations that do not offer broadband service, the WiFlyer can establish an instant Wi-Fi ‘hotspot' with just a standard phone line using dialup access services." The portable WiFlyer, which connects to either an ordinary phone line or Ethernet to deliver dial-up or broadband wireless Internet access, will be sold through the Laptop Lane airport service centers for $149.95 - the same list price offered on the Always On Wireless website. Always On Wireless began shipping the WiFlyer in October 2004 and it has already been featured in numerous publications, including the New York Times (October 14, 2004), BusinessWeek's annual Tech Buying Guide (November 8, 2004 issue), Fast Company, and others. The product targets road warriors, homes, offices, and hotels within the U.S. and internationally, to provide a convenient and affordable wireless access solution.
